I was meeting up with a couple friends from college and came across this diner when searching for a restaurant in this area. The Shoreline Diner definitely didn't disappoint. We came around 11am on a Saturday l, so a great time for either breakfast or lunch. The menu is expansive has so many options, it was really difficult to choose because everything sounded so good. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of allergy friendly options as well as vegan and vegetarian options. When the server took our order, she put it directly into a handheld device that then sent the info to the kitchen. While the ordering process took slightly longer this way, I was very impressed by this new system. I feel like it adds a great attention to detail, making sure the server can put any important info or customizations in immediately at the time of ordering. In my opinion, this greatly decreases the opportunity for error, which is particularly critical for people with allergies. The restaurant itself was very clean. We sat in a booth and I did feel like that was a bit tight, but overall not horrible. One of the individuals I was with had some specific dietary needs and I felt like the server paid very close attention and made sure to confirm each thing she ordered. She even read our whole order back to us before walking away to make sure it was put in correctly. My biggest reason for not giving 5 stars was that I felt this restaurant was in the pricey side for a diner, especially because the portions weren't that big. All in all, though, this restaurant has a ton of great qualifies and I would bump my rating up to 4.5/5 if that was a possibility. I definitely recommend checking out this restaurant!

Love that they have a gluten free/vegan pancake option. This allows my daughter who has an egg allergy to eat something other than a bagel! And they were delicious! Everyone loved their meals, and was probably one of the best meals we've had. The waitress was very attentive.

Great food, these days. Place went through one or two management changes over the years, was great, went bad, now pretty great again as far as food, but you'll pay for it. Think it's the chef. The quality is obvious, but there's a few choices made in the process that give you something to think about, well plated food, limited ketchup, ideas about cheese and gravy going on top of the fries instead of optional dipping. They might be right but can't care for the assumption. Probably has fine dining training/experience. The place these days is a labor of love, vegetables personally grown, food made with consideration, the ambiance an homage to the idea of a diner. Prices higher than they used to be, but that's true everywhere isn't it?

Absolutely delicious. My wife and I have been here twice now! They have an extensive vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options! They have a classic diner vibe with a modern menu. The service is pretty good as well, but sometimes not so attentive. Whether it's a patty melt, milkshake, eggs benedict or nachos, there is sure to be something that you can find!

The place is pretty good. They have a lot of interesting items on the menu. I got the egg white omelet which was good. The service was good and the outdoor dining was so nice when the weather was good. It's a good spot, just a bit more pricy than a typical diner.

A classic dinner with a menu that can please everyone. We dined around lunchtime on Sunday. We were pleasantly greeted and shown to a table right away. There are a lot of options on the menu, really something for everyone since they boast being a vegetarian enclave it was no suprise to see plenty of Vegetarian and Vegan options. It was worth the extra 34 minute drive from New London to have so many options available to us because of our dietary restrictions. The server brought over waters and we ordered coffees. They serve a variety of soft drinks, coffee, tea, and alcohol. It was no suprise to look around and see people enjoying a mimosa with their Sunsay Brunch. The service was quick, but if you want something, ask. There is nothing extra on the table so if you need butter, jelly, ketchup, salt & pepper or that sort of thing, just tell your server. The chili was fantastic, the souvlaki was filling, and we had to pack up the rest of the breakfast hash. A meal wouldn't be complete without dessert but we had no room so we ordered 3 for the road. They make cafe style coffees and espresso, they have vegan butter, cheese, and all the plant-based accompaniments you could hope for. They are very observant of dietary restrictions and food allergies/sensitivities. When traveling on I-95 in Southwestern Connecticut be sure to stop at the Shoreline Diner just off the exit or like us, make it your destination. You won't be disappointed!

We stopped into the Shoreline Diner because our pup was being treated at Urgent Care. We were on edge, and yet the people at Shoreline Diner made our experience exceptional. Everything on the menu is marked for major allergens, which is amazing. They also ask if you have other allergens they should be aware of. When we said how much we appreciated this, the server responded, "well you want to enjoy your meal, right?" I wish every restaurant had this attitude because WOW. We ordered the Nachos, Shrimp Tacos, and Crabcake BLT. Also a milkshake. All of these can be made gluten free. The server was also knowledgeable about other allergens and ingredients! When the vet called early, they were happy to pack up our food so we could take it to go, even though we were sitting and eating the nachos. When we finally did get to the rest of the food, it was also delicious. Definitely a place I'd return to!
